Welcome to the Community Boundary Builder

This planner uses the Option A elementary school boundaries from Engagement Session 3. Each shaded area on the map is one Option A elementary zone. The elementary boundaries stay as they are. You decide which middle school and high school each zone attends.

    How to build a plan

    1. Pick the Middle school or High school tab.
    2. Choose a school in the side panel, then click zones on the map to assign them to it. Double-click a zone to unassign it.
    3. Watch each school's bar. A full bar means the school is at capacity, and the bar and percent turn red when it's over.
    4. Use the High Achievers Program dropdown to pick which school hosts it. Its students count toward that school.
    5. When every zone has a middle and high school, select Submit plan.

    About "nearest school"

The button that fills zones with the nearest school measures a straight line from the center point of each elementary zone to each school. It doesn't use driving distance or where students live within the zone, so treat it as a starting point and adjust from there.

    About the numbers

On the map, each zone shows its Middle Students (grades 6 to 8) on the Middle school tab and its High Students (grades 9 to 12) on the High school tab: the students who live in that elementary zone. Each school's total also includes a fixed number of non-resident students who attend from outside these zones. They're locked to their school in every plan, which is why schools already show some students before you assign any zones. They show as the gray part of each school's bar. At Sequoyah HS, the number of non-resident attendees is an assumption. Chamblee's non-resident students don't include High Achievers magnet students, who count toward whichever school you pick with the High Achievers Program dropdown.
